Get your DHA medical license first!

If you are looking to become a healthcare professional (doctor, dentist, nurse, midwife, allied health or alternative medicine) in Dubai, you must first acquire a medical license from the DHA (Dubai Health Authority). The DHA is a government organization overseeing the health system of Dubai. It is responsible for licensing and regulating medical professionals practicing in the emirate.

The importance of getting a license

Most employers in Dubai are seeking candidates who already have completed the medical license application and are ready to begin work immediately. Such candidates are always considered before ones without a license. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you begin your licensing application process immediately if you are serious about acquiring a job in Dubai. The process usually takes two to three months.

You as the candidate will be responsible for providing the required documents and paying the fees for applying, examination and document verification. Once the process is successfully completed, you will receive a DHA eligibility letter and using this letter your future employer will apply for your actual medical license and in most cases, pay for it.

Eligibility

Healthcare professionals require their general medical education taken in one of the World Health Organization (WHO) or the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) accredited universities. You also need to have relevant experience after graduating your specialty (2 years for allied professionals and nurses, 3 years for GP and specialists, and 5 years for consultants). Please check the DHA website for further details or submit your CV and relevant educational certificates to us at licensing@cassiaweb.com and we will gladly review your profile and assess whether you are eligible to receive a medical license.
